Chalet Bonami sleeps ten adults in five king-size bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom. With ten of you, nobody is in a bunk bed and nobody is on a sofa bed.

Ten people, five bedrooms, and nobody on a sofa bed
Chalet Bonami has six bedrooms and beds for fourteen across 450 m², in the hamlet of Les Bois, Chamonix-Mont-Blanc. Five have a king-size bed and their own en-suite. The sixth is a bunk room with two bunks, so four beds, meant for children or teenagers.
With ten of you, the five king-size rooms are enough and the bunk room is not needed. It is still there if you want it. You rent the whole chalet whatever your numbers, so a group that would rather put two teenagers in the bunk room and keep a bedroom free just does that.

Ten adults who are not all couples
The beds in bedrooms 1 and 4 split into twins. In practice, three couples take three king-size rooms and four people travelling on their own take the two twin rooms. That is five bedrooms and ten adults.
That is also where this configuration stops: four people at most get a bed to themselves while the bunk room stays shut. If more of your group is travelling solo, the bunk room adds four single beds, and all ten can then have a bed each.
What "sleeps 10" means elsewhere
In Chamonix listings, sleeps 10 can mean completely different things. You will find four bedrooms and a mezzanine, five bedrooms with two of them bunk rooms, and elastic ranges along the lines of "sleeps 8-10" where the last two spaces are a sofa bed.
So the question worth asking is not how many it sleeps, but how many closed bedrooms and how many en-suite bathrooms. A listing that answers neither tells you nothing about the night your group will actually get.
Self-catered, not a catered chalet
Chalet Bonami is rented whole and self-catered. There is no resident cook, no chalet host living in and no half-board arrangement: the kitchen and the week are yours to run.
The kitchen is built for a group cooking properly rather than reheating. It has a Miele multi-function oven, a KitchenAid steam oven and microwave, a KitchenAid stand mixer, a Smeg blender and hand blender, a Jura bean-to-cup coffee machine, two fridges, a dishwasher, and a fondue and raclette set.
A private chef can be booked for the evenings you choose rather than for the whole week, priced on request. Housekeeping mid-stay and at the end of the stay is included; daily housekeeping is not.

Where the chalet sits in the Chamonix valley and how you reach the slopes
Chalet Bonami is in Les Bois, a hamlet 3 km (2 miles) north of central Chamonix, between meadows and forest, facing the Drus and the Aiguille Verte, two summits of the Mont Blanc massif. The Flégère gondola, which serves the Brévent-Flégère ski area, is 550 m away. The town centre is five to six minutes by road.
The chalet is not on a piste: you make your way to the gondola in the morning and ride it back down at the end of the day. You get to the valley's three other ski areas, Grands Montets, Balme and Les Houches, by car or by train.
A group skiing Brévent-Flégère can leave any hire cars at the chalet all week. Bus route 2 serves the Les Bois stop, and Les Tines is the nearest train stop on the Saint-Gervais to Vallorcine line for the other ski areas. Geneva Airport is about an hour and a quarter away by road, and a standard transfer van seats eight, so ten of you means two vehicles.
If you hire cars at Geneva rather than booking a transfer, French law requires winter tyres or a set of chains from 1 November to 31 March across Haute-Savoie, the Chamonix valley included. Car hire agreements in Geneva do not always include them by default.

The spaces that matter with a group of ten
What counts with ten of you is a table everyone sits at together, and enough rooms for people to get away from each other when they want to.
The dining table seats ten, and the sheltered balcony has a second one that also seats ten for meals outside. There is a spare table for four in the living room, which you only need above ten. The living room has a fireplace, and broadband wifi runs at 30 Mbps throughout the chalet.
The spa has three parts: a steam room for four to six, a sauna for six, and a hot tub for six on the covered deck. One at a time, none of them takes ten people at once; all three together, easily. The hot tub is heated continuously, so it is hot when you arrive, and all three are included in the weekly rate.
The rest of the house is there to spread the group out: a cinema room with a 4 m screen and Dolby Atmos sound, a gym kitted out with Technogym equipment, a wine cellar. There is also a ski room with a boot dryer, a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer, and outdoor parking.
Bonami's tip: none of the three spa rooms takes ten people at once. The sauna holds six, the hot tub six, the steam room four to six. Evenings work better when the group splits across all three from the first night rather than queueing at one door. And since the hot tub is always hot, nothing forces you to do it all at the same time.

What a week for ten costs and what it includes
A week at Chalet Bonami is €8,600 to €32,200 for the whole chalet. The gap comes from the season rather than your numbers: between a quiet week and the week of New Year, the rate almost quadruples. The week you choose sets the price, more than anything else.
The rate is the house rate, not a per-person one, so it does not change at eight, ten or fourteen. Tourist tax is included in it. We also take a security deposit, and confirm the amount when you book.

Booking Chalet Bonami for a group of ten
Your stay does not have to start on a Saturday. The arrival day is flexible and the minimum is three nights, which matters when ten people are coming from three different cities and cannot all book the same days off.
You book directly, with no agency, and you deal with the same person from the first message to the keys. During the stay a chalet manager takes care of things on site, though they do not live in: the chalet is rented whole and private, with no resident staff.
Three-night minimum, all year. February, half term included, and the week of New Year book up eight to twelve months in advance; on those dates the chalet's availability sets your calendar.

Will anyone be in a bunk bed?
Not with ten of you. Everyone sleeps in one of the five king-size bedrooms, each with its own en-suite. The bunk room and its four beds are still there if you would rather put children in it and free up a bedroom.
How many of the bathrooms are actually en-suite?
Five, one per king-size bedroom. Four have a shower, a bath and a WC in its own cubicle; the fifth has a shower and a WC. None is shared between two bedrooms.
Is Chalet Bonami catered?

Can you ski without a car?
